8) The Suarez/Evra saga – October 15th 2011
This was a story that went on for months and months. To this day, nobody knows exactly what was said for sure and nobody knows if Suarez had racist intentions, but the Liverpool striker received an 8 match ban for racial remarks against Evra in the 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Man United at Anfield in 2011. However, shockingly, this wasn’t the largest ban Suarez ever received in his Premier League career. In addition, the rivaly between these two didn’t stop at the ban, with Suarez then refusing to shake Evra’s hand in the return fixture the following March, sparking more controversy.
